The ending is heartwarming, complete with an apology from the repentant thief. The opening scene is the theft of an elderly woman's pension while she was with her granddaughter in Arborea.

The story

In early October, the young man approached the elderly woman under the pretext of selling her some socks. The grandmother opened her purse, but he immediately took advantage of the situation, managing to open the inside pocket where there was approximately €1,500. The woman only realized she had been robbed upon returning home. The matter was immediately reported to the police, and the entire community mobilized.

The turning point came in recent days. "The boy was tracked down," said Desirée Vagnozzi, the elderly woman's daughter, "but presumably, also at the advice of his Senegalese community, he had already decided to step back, apologized, and returned the entire sum."

The thief and the victim met, the old woman forgave him, withdrew the complaint and decided to help him.
