The regional councilor for Agriculture Valeria Satta condemned by the Court of Auditors to pay 220 thousand euros "in favor of the Sardinia Region".
The sentence was issued by the jurisdictional section chaired by Donata Cabras.
The provision states that «the Regional Prosecutor's Office had initiated proceedings against her following an anonymous complaint, which represented serious irregularities in the procedure for the appointment of Dr. Silvia Cocco as Director General of Personnel of the Sardinia Region, and had delegated investigative investigations to the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Financial Police of Cagliari".
The amount to be compensated, continues the sentence, «was determined during the preliminary investigation by the Prosecutor's Office by adding the gross monthly amounts paid (...) having detected inconsistencies in the calculations carried out by the competent Regional Office and transmitted by the Financial Police».
Again: «This damage (...) should be entirely attributed, by way of fraud, to the proposing councilor Satta, who would have presented an untrue situation to the Council.
In the alternative, if fraud was not deemed to exist, the Prosecutor's Office deemed the grave negligence of the aforementioned proponent undeniable, who, with inexcusable negligence and incompetence, believed that the task could be entrusted to Dr. Cocco despite the regulatory framework was extremely clear in not allowing it."
