The Alghero Ticket increases by 40 percent but at the same time provides significant discounts for large families, residents, students, and the over-65s.

The president of the Alghero Foundation, Graziano Porcu, was keen to point out that, rather than an increase, this is an "adjustment," also to restore dignity to museum sites (such as Anghelu Ruju, a UNESCO candidate) that previously received just a few cents per visit, and thus recognize the great work done by the cooperatives that manage them.

The price of a single ticket, which allows you to visit 13 sites in the city and the Porto Conte Park area, has increased from 50 euros to 70 euros.

Today, a press conference was held at the Quarter, with the Foundation's president and Tourism Councilor Ornella Piras explaining the reasons for the decision, which has so upset tourism entrepreneurs, especially since it was made in the middle of the season. "Clearly, all those who had already purchased the Alghero Ticket will have their rights recognized, as will tour operators who had already closed contracts. We don't want to cause any confusion," Ornella Piras assured.

In Neptune's Grotto, the star of the Alghero Ticket program, the number of visitors will still be limited because, between those arriving by motorboat and those climbing the steps, the number of visitors has reached 350. "An unsustainable number," confirmed Graziano Porcu. "We want to guarantee quality visits in the future."
