Alghero, endless queues at the ASL offices: from 5 in the morning to get a number

Endless lines at the offices of the social-health district in Via Degli Orti in Alghero to choose a general practitioner.

From dawn, dozens and dozens of users meet every morning to try to get one of the available numbers, the pass to access the offices. Most leave with nothing in their hands, after having suffered the heat under the portico.

The images were sent to us by a resident who had been standing outside since 5am.

For years, there have been calls for easier and more effective management of access to health services.
