Two summary trials and a plea bargain were handed down yesterday in court in Sassari for an alleged drug dealing case discovered by the State Police in Alghero on April 28.
The officers seized 200 grams of cocaine and over €22,000 in cash, arresting three people: two South Americans, a 55-year-old and a 47-year-old, and a 65-year-old from Spain.
The alleged drug exchange took place in the public gardens of the Catalan city, although the first two justified themselves by claiming they were in Sardinia only for tourism and the third instead exonerated the couple.
Yesterday, before preliminary hearing judge Gian Paolo Piana, lawyer Giuseppe Onorato agreed to a plea bargain of 2 years and 8 months for his 47-year-old client.
Lawyers Elisabetta Sotgia for the woman and Marco Palmieri for the 65-year-old have requested an abbreviated hearing, which will be held on September 27th.
