An uncivilized act sparked outrage this morning in Alghero: an electric bike from a sharing service was found under the ramparts, having been thrown away overnight by unknown individuals. The incident was reported, complete with photos, by Roberto Corbia, Councilor for Urban Planning, Participation, and Civic Imagination, who launched a call for collective responsibility on social media. "Avoiding behaviors that could damage or compromise the usability of common goods and spaces," Corbia wrote, "is an effort each of us must make to enable us to grow collectively. Throwing a bike off the ramparts, parking a car on the sidewalk, damaging a tree, a bench, or a flowerbed, littering: these are acts we must combat, and we must do so together."

The councilor thanks the citizen who reported the incident and dismisses criticisms of those who believe the presence of shared bikes encourages vandalism. "Some will say it was predictable, or that it's our fault for having installed them. I believe," he emphasizes, "that we must insist, resist, and fight even more, raising even greater awareness of respect for public property."
