A sudden and violent attack rocked Alghero on Saturday night . A 16-year-old boy was lured to his home under false pretenses and attacked by a group of his peers , all minors between the ages of 16 and 17. According to initial reports, the young man suddenly found himself surrounded by seven or eight boys who kicked and punched him, injuring him on the head with a glass bottle . The beating was stopped by the boy's mother, who, hearing the screams and commotion, looked out the window and screamed at the top of her lungs. At that point, the gang fled.

The sixteen-year-old was rescued and taken to the emergency room: his condition is not serious, but doctors have estimated a prognosis of about fifteen days of treatment. Michele Pais, a Lega Nord city councilor in Alghero, spoke harshly about the incident, which is currently being investigated by the Carabinieri, openly calling it a security concern. "We are facing an extremely worrying incident, which unfortunately is by no means an isolated case," Pais stated, calling what happened "a wake-up call that cannot be downplayed or dismissed as simply youth distress."

The councilor expressed his solidarity with the victim's family, who publicly reported the incident. "I will take responsibility for this situation as an administrator and as a parent," he added. "Our children must be free to leave their homes without living in fear. We need coordinated and immediate action."
