Alta Marmilla is celebrating the extraordinary milestone of longevity reached by Verina Olla , a proud citizen of Alería. The sprightly centenarian blew out 102 candles, surrounded by the affection of the entire town. Family, friends, and relatives gathered around the grandmother, a symbol of tenacity and historical memory.

Tzia Verina, as everyone affectionately calls her, never married, dedicating her life to tailoring and embroidery, arts she cultivated with passion and mastery. But her heart beats above all for bees, a passion passed on from her father Luigi after the war.

A love he transformed into expertise, passing down secrets and techniques to his nephew Luigi Manias, now an accomplished beekeeper. His history is intertwined with that of the land, one of hard work, dedication, and quiet industriousness.

Mayor Francesco Mereu also paid tribute to her, underlining "the importance of having such senior citizens in town, who represent the experience and knowledge of our community."

A birthday that becomes an occasion to celebrate the memory, the roots, and the value of the generations that have built the present.
