After days of intense heat, Sardinia is experiencing a change of scenery, with the arrival of more unstable conditions and the possibility of thunderstorms. The Civil Protection Decentralized Functional Center has issued a yellow alert, with ordinary criticality, for hydrogeological risk related to thunderstorms, valid from 2:00 PM today, Friday, August 14, until 6:00 PM tomorrow, Saturday, August 15.

The alert applies to the areas of Iglesiente, Campidano, Montevecchio Pischinappiu, Flumendosa Flumineddu, Tirso, Gallura, and Logudoro. The Civil Protection Department therefore urges caution, especially in areas affected by thunderstorms, which may be locally intense.

The transition from intense heat to possible instability therefore marks a brief turning point in the island's weather conditions right in the heart of the August holiday period.
