Less than two weeks to X hour: Aeroitalia is preparing for its debut at the Cagliari airport, where it will manage territorial continuity for the next year. The chances that Ita Airways will return to the runway at the capital's airport are now reduced to a minimum . Technically, everything is still possible, but the time available is increasingly limited . Even if the 10.4 million euros that the state company will receive to guarantee the service to Alghero, recently assigned (3.4 million for connections with Milan, 7 million for those with Rome), could influence the choices of managers on the Sardinian market.

The pressure on this front, especially from the transport sector unions, is high. Ita could agree to fly to Cagliari too, without financial compensation , thus taking back a significant portion of the "connecting" flights (multi-leg tickets, with a stopover in Fiumicino or Linate) with departure or destination in the south of the island.

In the meantime , the Ministry of Transport lowers the discounted fares for residents of Sardinia . Even if only slightly: one euro per trip . The rules of territorial continuity provide for some mechanisms for adjusting prices based on inflation and aviation fuel prices.
