The mayor of La Maddalena, Fabio Lai, has strongly protested against a business owner who allegedly used images of one of the archipelago's islands to advertise his business . "The archipelago is no one's advertisement!" he thundered, calling the act "a serious and unacceptable act."
The mayor reports having learned in recent days "that a commercial operator from another area has used, without authorization, images of our sea and our islands to advertise his business, " attributing those places "to another city." Fabio Lai therefore announces that, in his capacity as mayor, he has sent a " formal warning , ordering the immediate removal of the video and urging people never to repeat similar behavior." He adds: "Anyone who thinks they can use the name, images, and identity of our archipelago without respecting the rules and without authorization is in the wrong place. The protection and respect of our community are non-negotiable."
The mayor of La Maddalena also reports that he has instructed the municipality's lawyers to "assess any potential damage to its reputation" and has requested that the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park Authority enforce the regulation approved with Resolution No. 23 of July 9, 2022. However, this is not the first time that incidents similar to the one reported by the mayor have occurred.
