Sardinia and Molise are the regions that in 2021 recorded the lowest number of accidents in road construction sites with victims or injuries. A case for each of the two regions.

These are the data released by the Asaps Observatory: in Italy there were 124 accidents in which 38 people died and 162 were injured. Among the 38 victims, 8 were workers or roadmen working on the construction site, 87 accidents occurred on motorways or roads with separate carriageways and 37 on ordinary roads.

Furthermore, of the 124 serious episodes, 117 (94.4%) were caused by speed and distraction, 4 (3.2%) were caused by the use of alcohol or drugs and 3 (2.4 %) fatigue.

Of the total of 124 episodes, 34 occurred in Liguria: the area with a high number of construction sites on the motorway sections.
