The Court of Cassation has confirmed the five-year and four-month prison sentence against Cristian Tedde, 43, from Sassari , for the attempted murder of Omar Ndiaye , 48, from Senegal, who was shot in the chest at dawn on 1 April 2023, in his home in Largo Monache Cappuccine, in the historic centre of Sassari .
The Supreme Court, accepting the request of the civil party's lawyer, Giuseppe Onorato, rejected the appeal presented by the forty-three-year-old , declaring it inadmissible.
According to the procedural truth that emerged during the three-phase trial, Ndiaye and Tedde had spent the night of March 31, 2023, together in a public place. They ended the evening with an argument in front of several witnesses, and then each returned to their respective homes. At dawn, Tedde appeared in front of Ndiaye's house with a sawed-off shotgun and fired a shot that, after passing through the French window bars, struck his rival in the chest and arm.
Neighbors called for help, and the police soon found Tedde at his mother's house. They also recovered the rifle, hidden in the stairwell, in the building. Ndiaye was hospitalized for his injuries and released after several weeks.
