A 5-day-old baby girl in life-threatening condition was rushed from Alghero to Rome on a Gulfstream G650 flight from the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force.
Emergency medical transport was activated at the request of the Sassari Prefecture. The little girl, admitted to the Santissima Annunziata Hospital, required urgent specialized care, which was provided by transferring her to the "Bambino Gesù" Hospital.
The plane took off from Alghero Airport. During the flight, the newborn was cared for by a specialized medical team and accompanied by a parent. Upon arrival, she was immediately transferred by ambulance to the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital.
