An emergency medical transport of a 4-year-old boy in imminent danger of death concluded around 10 pm last night.
The child, hospitalized at the Brotzu Hospital in Cagliari, needed to be transferred to the Gemelli Hospital in Rome for immediate specialized care.
The request for support came from the Cagliari Prefecture and was handled by the Italian Air Force operations room. The aircraft took off from Cagliari-Elmas Airport aboard a Gulfstream G650 aircraft belonging to the 31st Wing at Ciampino.
Once landed at the Rome airport, the child was immediately transferred by ambulance to the destination hospital.
