Sardinia's mobilization against the onslaught of wind and solar energy has spread to other regions. In the wake of the many initiatives implemented on the island, a national network has been formed involving approximately 300 mayors ready to fight back against energy speculation. Orgosolo has thus far been at the heart of the mobilization, which is spreading to the continent.

And Mayor Pasquale Mereu , speaking on Videolina's news program, announced that the mayors' network will request a change to the Draghi decree on renewables. The issue will be addressed in a meeting requested by the 300 mayors with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni . Mereu also emphasized the value of Pratobello 24, "the only regulatory instrument capable of halting the advance of speculators."

"We can be a barrier against an invasion that has become increasingly monstrous. In Sardinia alone, we have about 800 requests, for a total of 50 GW, which would be enough to power Italy. This is unthinkable," concludes the mayor of Orgosolo.
