Thousands of them this morning in Lanusei in a long procession that crossed the town to reach the Nostra Signora della Mercede hospital and reaffirm the right to health.

In the front row the associations and committees for the right of the patient, and then mayors, citizens and the Ogliastra socio-health commission represented by the mayor of Lanusei Davide Burchi, all the high school students of the city with a sign: "We are the future of Ogliastra, we need our hospital ".

"We are 2,500 people - said Adriano Micheli, of the #giulemanidallogliastra association - and we are ready to do anything to wake up regional and national politicians. Despite the promises of regional policy, Ogliastra people have no right to health care: there are no doctors in the wards of pediatrics, cardiology, orthopedics at the point of birth. The wards work in fits and starts, someone closes at 8 pm, and every weekend our women who have to give birth have to go outside, we even have the emergency room that needs to be resuscitated. not to have the general director of the ASL who resigned a few months ago and the few remaining doctors live under stress. We will never accept that our hospital dies in general indifference, but we will fight in every way ".

"In Ogliastra we have 60 thousand inhabitants - added Gennaro Esposito, representative of the Volunteers Association of Lanusei - and we cannot die because we are the smallest province in Italy. Here the right to health has gone to bless: 50 doctors are missing, currently there are 70 out of 120, there is no director general and the will of the Region and the Government to deal with this situation. It is unthinkable that an area that is an hour and a half drive from the main hospitals should not have a territorial presence . Nor that our departments have to depend on doctors on loan to function. The Region will immediately find solutions to this disaster ".
