Workplace tragedy in Val Venosta: Worker overturns forklift and is crushed to death

A workplace tragedy struck this morning in the industrial area of Vezzano, a hamlet in the municipality of Silandro, in Val Venosta. A 51-year-old Bosnian worker lost his life.

According to initial reconstructions, the man was driving a forklift inside the Marx Srl production area when, for reasons still under investigation, he collided with another earthmoving vehicle driven by a colleague. Following the impact, the forklift overturned, crushing the 51-year-old, who died instantly.

The volunteer firefighters of Silandro and Vezzano, the paramedics of the Croce Bianca and the Carabinieri intervened on site and are carrying out surveys to precisely reconstruct the dynamics of the accident and ascertain any responsibilities.
