Wind gusts up to 115km/h on Gorgona and central coast, over 100-110 km/h on the reliefs. The Gorgona buoy recorded waves at more than 7 meters high. In the next few hours, more wind gusts around 100 km/h on the Archipelago and central coast, 60-80 km/h on the internal areas. The president of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani reports it on social media.
In Tuscany today there is an orange alert for strong winds and storm surges. In Livorno, with a Libeccio wind that has been blowing on the city since last night with 45 knots of wind and gusts from this morning up to 50, reported by the Avvisatore marittimo, port activities are currently suspended. Connections with the major islands are also interrupted. This morning the ferries from Sardinia and Corsica did not arrive in Livorno, announcing the missed departure or the change of route to other destinations. Five commercial ships that were stopped in the roadstead have left the mooring and are drifting in front of the coast. The Liburnia ferry for the island of Capraia is also stopped in the port, which had already skipped the trip yesterday.
In the meantime, the first measures have been taken in the city, in addition to the closure of public parks and cemeteries, a stretch of the seafront has been closed by the Civil Protection due to the accumulation of debris on Viale Italia brought onto the roadway by the wave motion. Interventions by the fire brigade in the province of Florence, particularly in Mugello, for trees fallen onto the roadway, with seven requests to be processed and two interventions in progress. In particular in San Piero a Sieve in the Taiuti area, and in Vicchio in the Vezzano area.
