Virtus Argentine point guard Luca Vildoza, 30, and his wife were arrested last night by police in Bologna for assaulting an ambulance worker during a street fight on Viale Silvani.

The couple were in a car: he allegedly railed for no apparent reason at the ambulance, which had pulled over to the side to determine the location of an emergency. The car then allegedly blocked the ambulance's progress.

The worker, who got out, was attacked by the 26-year-old girl, who grabbed her by the hair and neck, and then the basketball player also grabbed her by the arm and lifted her by the neck.

Vildoza and his wife were later released: the Prosecutor's Office decided to forgo a summary trial to conduct further investigations into the circumstances of the case . According to the basketball player's defense attorney, Mattia Grassani, these were not the same as those initially revealed based on the statements made by medical workers to the police.

The player will leave with the team regularly for France, where he will play tomorrow evening against Asvel Lyon.
