Many schools and offices were evacuated due to the 4.3 magnitude earthquake recorded in many centers in Calabria. The earthquake was felt, in particular, in the Vibonese area, where the epicenter would have been located, at a depth of ten kilometers.

In most of the municipalities reached by the quake, elementary school pupils were gathered in open places adjacent to the institutes. The evacuation operations were carried out, however, in an orderly fashion and no injuries were recorded.

There were also many people who were at home and who went out in the throes of strong alarm. The police have initiated investigations to detect any damage, which at the moment, however, is not reported.

The earth also shook distinctly in Lamezia Terme and Catanzaro and along the Tyrrhenian coast of Cosenza.
