A body in an advanced state of decomposition was found by the local police and firefighters in an apartment in Verona.

It belongs to an over 80-year-old woman who would have died at least 5 years ago and is now mummified.

The old woman lived with her son in the Borgo Milano district. The 60-year-old man is untraceable and would continue to collect his mother's pension.

Investigations are underway on the reasons for the death, nothing excludes that it was natural causes.
