He crashed into the roof of an uninhabited country house during what was likely an emergency landing.

The impact left no way out for the pilot of the two-seater ultralight, who died instantly.

The accident occurred around noon in Albareto, in the open countryside on the outskirts of Modena. The victim is a man in his seventies from Modena.

He investigates the Police, but it is not certain that he will be able to reconstruct how and why the aircraft ended up against the building, breaking through the roof. One of the causes could be the thick fog that formed suddenly and today compromised a correct view of the pilot.

Precisely because of the fog, the man may have decided to suddenly drop in altitude and attempt an emergency landing, not considering it safe to continue the flight, which started in other weather conditions.

The first to notice the tragedy, giving the immediate alarm, was a motorist who was passing through the area. The man saw some debris around the house in San Clemente street and immediately after the gash in the roof, so he alerted the police, having passed along the same road a little earlier and having seen the area around the house " clean ".

The house, put up for sale by the owners, has been empty for years. Firefighters and numerous ambulances, as well as the police, intervened on the spot, also because initially the number of people involved was not clear.

It was not easy to find the victim's body, because the ultralight broke through the roof and the firefighters had to reach the impact point in the building, which is three stories high.

The small airplane had departed from an airfield also located in the province of Modena.
