The tiramisu was not vegan and caused the death of Anna Bellisario , just twenty years old . Now a trial has been requested for the producers, the charge is of manslaughter.

On January 26 last year, after eating that dessert, sold as vegan, the girl went into a coma due to anaphylactic shock caused by traces of milk , to which she was strongly allergic, present in the tiramisu. On February 5, after 10 days of agony, he died.

Today the deputy prosecutor of Milan Tiziana Siciliano and the prosecutor Luca Gaglio requested the indictment of Giuseppe Loiero and his mother Giovanna Anoia, respectively legal representative and manager of the production lines of Glg srl, the company producing "Tiramisun" with Mascherpa male. They are accused of complicity in manslaughter , and on January 15th the investigating judge issued a ban on them from business activity for one year.

That dessert, as later ascertained by the prosecutors, contained mascarpone . At GLG, we read in the documents, "vegan and non-vegan products were prepared in the same environment, at the same time and on the same table", the use of "preparations of animal origin", such as mascarpone, was confused in the production of desserts, and "ingredients of plant origin".

And those who worked in the laboratory "did not have adequate training", the example is given of an employee who had followed "only a 4-hour general course on the current legislation on food hygiene".

The two GLG managers, questioned by the investigating judge, had availed themselves of the right not to respond, but had filed a statement saying they were "saddened". If the product label had at least mentioned "traces of lactose or its derivatives", wrote the investigating judge, the young woman "would not have ordered and consumed the dessert", because she was always very careful .

A preliminary hearing judge will have to decide on the request for trial, but the suspects could also choose to negotiate a plea deal. The prosecutors, however, had requested the dismissal of other positions included in the investigation, including the owner of the fast food restaurant where the girl had dined that evening with her boyfriend.
