In via dell'Autonomia Siciliana, in Palermo, the plant was stolen in memory of Emanuela Loi, the Sardinian policewoman in the escort of Paolo Borsellino who died in the via D'Amelio massacre.
The pomelia was located in the area dedicated to the "Value of women against all forms of violence", not far from via D'Amelio.
The discovery of the theft was made by the member of the Democratic Palermo association and creator of this green area, Emilio Corrao, together with the vice president of the eighth district Marcello Longo and the president of the diocese of Palermo of Catholic action Giuseppe Bellanti.
The three were there for an inspection in view of a demonstration scheduled for November 28th.
"On the occasion of the international day against violence against women there will be a moment of awareness in this place dedicated to the value of women against all forms of violence, citrus trees will be planted to witness the commitment of many women who fight in the promotion of legality and justice ”, explain the promoters.
