The investigations of the L'Aquila State Police continue to shed light on the murder of Teodoro Ullasci , the 51-year-old Sardinian killed last Friday during an attack that took place on the streets of the Abruzzo capital.

The investigators have tracked down and arrested the two alleged perpetrators, a Romanian citizen and a man of Cuban origin, and are now trying to shed full light on the dynamics of the crime, the motive (a robbery?) and any relationships between Ullasci and his attackers .

During the initial investigations, the viewing of the images from the video surveillance cameras in the area of Via Fortebraccio , where the murder took place, was decisive. According to what was reported by the local broadcaster Rete 8, in the videos the victim can be seen walking down the street, followed by the two suspects . One of them grabs a stone , perhaps with the intention of using it, but then gives up. «In another frame – the reconstruction continues – there is the second man who kicks Ullasci in the side and then punches him in the face ». Again: «According to at least two witnesses, the man, after being joined by two people, had a heated argument with them which in a few moments turned into an attack during which the 59-year-old was punched and then gives a kick in the stomach." A person present at the event will then notify the emergency services. But the 118 intervention to save the 59-year-old's life will unfortunately prove useless.

In addition to video surveillance and testimonies, useful clues for investigators will come from the autopsy ordered by the Prosecutor's Office, which will be carried out on Wednesday , and from the examination of the mobile phones seized by the officers from the two arrested men, who must answer to the charge of manslaughter.

Meanwhile, Ullasci's family - who reached Abruzzo from Sardinia - is calling for justice and awaiting the green light from the authorities to be able to organize the funeral.
