Mario Biondo 's death was a murder, while the suicide was simply staged.

These are the conclusions of the investigating judge of Palermo Nicola Aiello, who closed the investigation into the case of the Palermo cameraman found dead in the house in Madrid where he lived with his wife, 9 years ago.

The magistrate, in practice, closes the story by establishing, however, that the 30-year-old did not kill himself, rather he was killed.

"The elements that are drawn from the file of the public prosecutor in the opinion of the judge deny the suicidal thesis and suggest that Mario Biondo was killed by unknown hands and subsequently placed in a position capable of simulating a suicide ... and for these reasons that In the opinion of the writer, despite being traceable from the file of the public prosecutor numerous probative segments that testify for the homicidal thesis supported by the opponents, the distance of time from the facts from which one proceeds has in fact prejudiced the possibility of carrying out investigations that could have allowed identify the perpetrators of the hypothesized murder, for this reason he ordered the filing of the file ", reads the document.

The cameraman's family, married to a well-known Spanish journalist, has been fighting for years to find the truth : Biondo was found hanged in the library with a pashmina tied around his neck.
