Barbara Pasetti remains in prison, arrested in the investigation into the crime story of Luigi Criscuolo, the biblical trader known as 'Gigi Bici', who disappeared on November 8 and was found killed on December 20 right in front of the woman's house, in the Pavese area, in the hamlet of Calignano .

The request for release made by his lawyer was rejected by the investigating judge for serious indications of guilt in relation to the attempted extortion against the man's family members.

Pasetti, 44, is also under investigation for the murder and concealment of Criscuolo's body.

Gigi Bici, 60, was killed with a gunshot to the head when the woman's son was found "while he was playing football," said Pasetti, who also said she never met the victim. This latter circumstance is denied by various testimonies.

Barbara Pasetti, heard for two hours in recent days, while admitting the existence of the attempted extortion, before the judge would not have provided information capable of exonerating her. The woman is charged with wiretapping and anonymous letters written in broken Italian to try to direct the investigation into a gang of kidnappers from Eastern Europe made to find Criscuolo's family in a telephone booth and in a church.

In the letters, found on 1 December and 5 December last, a request for a ransom of 380 thousand euros when Gigi Bici had already been killed, probably as early as 8 November. The woman did not know that the agents of the Flying Squad were already monitoring her.
