The Seaside Base with Donnedamare and Assobalneari Italia, a member of Federturismo Confindustria, have sent a letter to the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to request the convening of an emergency meeting to reach a resolution of the situation of strong uncertainty affecting the seaside tourism sector .
The request, drawn up and signed together with 5 other associations to protect the category, arrives in the aftermath of the sentence of the EU Court of Justice which declared the seaside expropriations legitimate at the end of the concessions and which would leave on its knees a sector which today has over 30,000 businesses .
«The uncertainty that characterizes the seaside sector has now resulted in real chaos , which in the absence of legislation has repercussions in continuous actions by the judiciary, which mistakenly legitimize categories hostile to us to carry out acts of force and occupation of the spaces in which our entrepreneurial activities arise. We appeal to the government to follow up on the commitment already made and to protect the value of thousands of companies which, with their constant work, have always contributed to the growth of the national economy and to consolidate the international reputation of our country", they said. commented the Presidents of La Base Balneare with Donnedamare and Assobalneari Italia member of Federturismo Confindustria.
«Thanks to the important investments made over the years, the entire category, which employs over 300,000 people , has transformed the Italian coasts into one of the most sought-after destinations for tourism in the world, helping to create an excellence international level which today represents one of the main drivers for the creation of GDP and quality tourism in Italy. As evidence of the value generated by the sector, according to a preview of a study conducted and coordinated by Professor Daniele Marini of the University of Padua, for every euro spent in a bathing establishment a value of 2.46 euros is generated in Italy . It is therefore essential that a firm stance is reached towards the European Commission, also in consideration of the latest ruling of the CJEU which can only have negative repercussions on the quality currently guaranteed by the sector, causing heavy negative repercussions on the national economy" .
