The alleged perpetrator of the murder of Manuel Mastrapasqua, the 31-year-old stabbed to death in Rozzano, in the Milan area, has turned himself in. The attack occurred during the night between Wednesday and Thursday, when the victim was returning home after work. An eighteen-year-old is said to have shown up at the Alessandria barracks for the murder.

According to initial information yet to be verified, the young man then headed on a train to Alessandria. It is still unclear whether he did it at random or following a precise plan. His movements were noticed by some Polfer agents, who checked him. Already on that occasion he made partial but clear references to the murder. He was then handed over to the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Milan, who are investigating the case. The judicial authority is now evaluating the reliability of his statements.

Mastrapasqua, according to images from surveillance cameras installed in the area, had left the Carrefour supermarket where he worked in via Farini, Milan, shortly after midnight. He was found, around 2:50 near a tram stop 15 by a patrol of the Carabinieri who rescued him and made sure he was taken to the hospital, where he died shortly after.
