The “resurfacing” of the technicians who intervened to rescue Ottavia Piana, the injured speleologist who remained trapped – for the second time in a few months – in the Abisso Bueno Fonteno cave, in the province of Bergamo, continues.

Piana was transported already on Sunday evening to a point inside the cave where a heated base camp has been set up and since this morning the stretcher has been making its way with difficulty to overcome the narrowest section which is gradually being cleared.

"From the end of the narrowest section to the exit - reads a note released by Cnsas, the Alpine and Speleological Rescue - a long, more linear route will follow. The injured woman is alert and cooperative." Inside the cave there are about 20 rescuers.
