They would have employed hundreds of workers , Italian and foreign, illegally, for an average of 15/16 hours a day for a wage of 2.5 euros per hour , with holidays that are hardly granted and unpaid, and with threats of dismissal and verbal assaults.

With this accusation , three farms specialized in the production and harvesting of fruit and vegetables of the Etruscan Coast , in Maremma, between Livorno and Grosseto have ended up in the crosshairs of the Guardia di Finanza .

During the investigation, the military ascertained "the oppressive working conditions to which farm laborers would have been subjected", denouncing the owners of the companies involved for illegal intermediation, undeclared work and exploitation of labor .
