For thirty years his father Vittorio had left Senorbì together with his brother Pier Paolo, and then founded a thriving moving company a few years later with offices in Castenaso (province of Bologna) and Castelfranco Emilia (province of Modena).

But Alessia and Giulia Pisanu , the two girls aged 15 and 17 overwhelmed and killed by a high-speed train on Saturday morning in Riccione , residing in Madonna di Castenaso, were still very close to Sardinia. A few weeks ago, in June, they returned to the island with their family: first a holiday in Costa Rei, then the obligatory stop in Senorbì . From where in the next few hours many relatives will leave (there is also another brother of Vittorio, Mario, owner of a reception room) to reach Emilia.

“On behalf of all citizens I express condolences and closeness to the Pisanu family”, said Mayor Alessandro Pireddu. “A tragedy that leaves you speechless”, the words of the former mayor Adalberto Sanna.

THE TRAGEDY - Alessia and Giulia, inseparable sisters, on the morning of July 30 entered the Riccione station , one of the most popular summer resorts for their peers who, like them, spend the night there, dancing, and then take the morning train to go home. Almost all the witnesses, a few at 6 am on Saturday, described them as tired and exhausted, perhaps after an evening spent awake .

The two sisters approached the owner of the bar who was refueling the vending machines: "A girl dressed in black asked me something, she didn't seem very lucid. Then she walked away and met with a friend who was holding her boots. ". One was Giulia, the other Alessia. The man saw them go towards the second platform where the train to Ancona was already stopped. " I started screaming , I like others who were at the station. In the midst of the screams we heard the whistle of the Frecciarossa train passing on the first platform. Then a big blow".

Impossible to survive the impact of the convoy, bound for Milan, which can reach 200 kilometers per hour . According to the testimonies of the passengers on the quay, one of the two got off first, while the other was approaching her, perhaps to try to save her or help her get back up.

Rescuers immediately took off, on the spot the Polfer, the agents of the Police Headquarters, the forensics of the state police, the carabinieri of Riccione and the firefighters of Rimini.

It was not easy for the Polfer agents to trace the identity of the two girls. The only clue is an extremely damaged cell phone made out to a moving company in Castenaso . Through the company, Vittorio Pisanu was then tracked down , who recognized the few remains of his daughters and then, for hours, remained in the offices of Polfer in Rimini to be able to reconstruct their last moments of life in detail.
