At the entrance, the three white coffins of the boys were greeted by thunderous applause while in the church there was a surreal silence interrupted only by sobs of emotion. The friends of the three boys wore white T-shirts with the photos of the victims while colored balloons and doves were released to fly freely in the sky before the long procession through the streets of Monreale reached the cemetery.
