The famous Tuscan photojournalist Massimo Sestini , 62, who became famous for the shot of Lady D in Sardinia and is hospitalized in intensive care at the hospital in Trento after an underwater accident in the frozen waters of Lake Lavarone , where he was diving, is stable but remains in a reserved prognosis.

Yesterday morning Sestini had experienced problems during the dive in the frozen lake and was brought to the surface by the instructor and immediately resuscitated by the rescuers.

The situation, as confirmed by press agencies, remains critical due to " acute respiratory distress syndrome , pulmonary ARDS, characterised by an inflammatory process affecting the lungs which compromises the functionality of the alveoli and their ability to assimilate oxygen from the inspired air".

The crisis was apparently caused by contact with the frozen water of Lake Lavarone.

The photographer, however, according to what we have learned, does not present neurological damage.
