He turned twenty in March, supported Roma and spent Sundays at the stadium, had a passion for volleyball (he had played in the Roma Volley youth team), and a future as a lawyer. He was studying law, loved sports, and the Sardinian sea, where he had spent his holidays .
Beatrice Bellucci had many passions and a long life ahead of her. A life that was abruptly interrupted last night on Cristoforo Colombo, the road that leads to the EUR district's skyscrapers and the sea at Ostia. Beatrice had the misfortune of finding herself in the way of a car engaged in an illegal speed race .
The Mini in which the 20-year-old was traveling with a friend (Beatrice was in the passenger seat) was hit by a car traveling at high speed, apparently engaged in a race with another vehicle . The vehicle in which Beatrice was traveling crashed into a tree on the central reservation : the girl died in hospital from her serious injuries. The other three young people involved in the collision, aged between 20 and 22, were hospitalized with critical conditions .
Wide-area camera footage is being examined to shed full light on the accident and reconstruct the moments leading up to the impact.
CONDOLENCE
Many messages of condolences have been sent to the victim. "As an academic senator of Roma Tre University, I express my deepest sympathy and closeness to the family, friends, and colleagues of Beatrice Bellucci, a law student who tragically passed away," Lorenzo Di Mattia wrote on Facebook, describing a university community "deeply shocked" by the young woman's death. "Beatrice," he continued, "was part of our present and our future. Her memory will live on in the places where she studied, among the people who knew her, and in all of us who join together today in grief and silence."
The volleyball team's tribute: "The management of Smi Roma Volley, along with all the staff, coaches, and athletes, extends its heartfelt condolences to the Bellucci family following the tragic passing of Beatrice," the post reads. "Andrea, Bea's father, was one of the founding directors of our club, and Federico, her brother, was one of our collaborators in recent years. This is very sad news for the entire Roma Volley Club family."
