Conad decided to withdraw the brand from the Pescara store whose owner had become the protagonist of an episode that had made the rounds of the web. For a sanitary napkin found out of place in the locker rooms of employees, he had asked in an audio "the names and surnames of those who have periods".

An "unacceptable behavior", defined Conad, who has distanced himself.

The story was denounced by Filcams-Cgil , which disclosed the contents of an audio shock: "I want the name and surname of those who have a menstrual cycle today, okay? Conad Superstore in Pescara in a voice sent to the foremen's WhatsApp group. The manager-owner was furious after "a used sanitary napkin was found outside the toilet bin inside the changing rooms", the union reconstructed, according to which "in the same audio the owner threatens repercussions and reminders if you do not the person responsible for the incident was found ".

The woman, Conad said, will be excluded from the cooperative system of the supermarket chain . Sources close to the company explain that the relationship between the parent company and the local "branches" is governed by a contract and that neither the owner nor the workers are formally Conad's. So the solution will be to cut off the combination between the store and the brands. This means that the workers are currently always employed by the private company of the Pescara store owned by the manager.

"We cannot accept behavior such as that which, unfortunately, we were able to ascertain at the point of sale in question. Consequently we have decided to proceed, as required by our regulations, with the termination of the business lease contract . We will in any case give continuity to the activity of the point of sale guaranteeing service to customers and work to collaborators ", says the managing director of the Conad Adriatico Cooperative, Antonio Di Ferdinando.

" Great satisfaction for Conad's decision to withdraw from commercial relations with those who were responsible for the serious and ignoble act. Today we are witnessing the victory of the workers who have chosen not to submit to the abuses", affirm Filcams-Cgil of Pescara and that Abruzzo Molise, asking that "the workers of the point of sale are protected". The union thanks the workers in the business: "Without their complaint this result would not have been possible. This victory teaches us that we must never lower our heads and that the wall of silence, which is often created in the workplace, can be demolished. ".
