Quarrel between husband and wife ends in tragedy: he loses his balance, hits his head on the sidewalk and dies
The man chased his wife who had locked herself inside the car, then in an attempt to open the door he fell and crashed into the curb.
A 39-year-old man died yesterday in Prato after hitting his head on a sidewalk in via dei Fossi, south of the city: the accident probably occurred at the end of a violent quarrel between the man and his wife .
The municipal police intervened yesterday evening, around 10.40 pm, for what was initially indicated as a road accident. However, the 118 rescuers carried out emergency maneuvers on the man without being able to prevent his death.
The municipal agents immediately started investigations to reconstruct the story , ascertaining the state of shock of his wife, a 34-year-old woman of Chinese nationality like the victim.
According to what has been learned, the couple began the argument inside their own apartment, then the woman ran outside to get her car and left: at that point, the husband tried to block her by trying to open the door but then lost his balance and fell hitting his head on the curb .
The body is at the disposal of the magistrate on duty at the prosecutor's office , while the woman was transported to the Santo Stefano hospital in Prato.
Municipal agents acquired footage from a camera in the area that could have captured key scenes of the incident.
