With a stratagem he diverted the money of the customers of the post office where he worked on his own accounts.

But after several reports - and a total of half a million euros "disappeared" - it was discovered. And, guilty confesses, she justified herself by claiming to be suffering from gambling addiction.

The protagonist of the story is a - now former - employee of the Naples Post Office, in the Castel Capuano area, now under investigation on charges of embezzlement.

As mentioned, it would have managed to steal around 500 thousand euros from the deposit and savings books of a dozen customers.

The modus operandi was always the same: the woman diverted the money by replacing the passbook in possession of the company (due to the exhaustion of the lines intended for the recording of the operations) without however providing the new copy to the customer who, therefore, did not have the possibility of knowing costa was happening to him. And so, in several tranches, his money was diverted to other accounts, even with plausible justifications.

The investigations by the State Police, coordinated by the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, continue to clarify all the details of the affair, also in relation to the death, by suicide, of the suspect's brother.

The latter, before taking his own life, left a note in which he let his relatives know that he had decided to make the insane gesture because he was now unable to bear the pressure of debt. The man's suicide took place just when the woman came under investigation and therefore it is not excluded that her sister supported him and that the decision to take her life was taken when that flow of money was interrupted.
