Thirteen people were arrested by the state police - 21 those reported on the loose - as part of an operation against online child pornography. The charges range from disclosure to the sale and possession of material.

A 29-year-old resident of Ossi also ended up in handcuffs. In his home he was surprised while he was downloading offending material to add to his large archive of videos (between 10 thousand and 20 thousand), many of which featuring children under the age of 10.

The man was taken to Pallets.

The investigation began over a year and a half ago and was conducted under the direction of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Palermo by the Postal and Communications Police Department for Western Sicily with the coordination of the Central Service, at the National Center for Contrast of on-line child pornography (CNCPO).

Thanks to the support of the Offices of Specialties of Cagliari, Bari, Bologna, Catania, Florence, Milan, Naples, Pescara, Reggio Calabria, Rome, Turin, Trento, the network of relationships between Italians and foreigners with which they were exchanged was rebuilt. via the web photos and videos depicting sexual acts between adults and minors, sexual violence suffered by children, and sometimes even child pornography content made to the detriment of infants. In total, more than two hundred and fifty thousand "files" were seized.

In October 2019 the Palermo Public Prosecutor had authorized agents to carry out undercover activities and they managed to identify the users from which the connections were made, tracing back to people residing in 13 different regions against which the searches were then triggered with consequent seizures of computer devices.
