In Italy, the obligation to wear a mask on the plane remains even after May 16 , the date on which, according to the guidelines of the ECDC (European Center for Disease Prevention and Control) and Aesa (European Aviation Safety Agency) make them expire starting from that date.

"If the states of departure or destination - the guidelines read - require the use of masks in public transport, aircraft operators should require passengers and crew to wear the mask even after 16 May". In other cases, the use of the device is only “ recommended ” and “ encouraged ”.

In Italy, the ordinance provides that the obligation on means of transport, including airplanes, remains until June 15 . Therefore, in the planes that depart or arrive in our country , the device must be worn for at least another month.

The European guidelines only provide to "encourage" the use of Ffp2 and strongly recommend it to people at high risk of severe Covid and those with respiratory symptoms such as coughing or sneezing.
