Offenders, abusive parkers and drug dealers with basic income: 267 complaints
Maxi-investigation by the carabinieri and INPS, uncovered tax damages worth almost 1.5 million euros

They are those produced by the provision of the basic income to 267 people , residing in the city of Catania, who have received the benefit for several months without having the requisites.
The discovery was made during an investigation conducted by the Carabinieri, which started after a series of investigations initiated by the INPS.
The soldiers of the Arma and the staff of the social security institution also discovered that several non-EU citizens were collecting the subsidy even though they had not been resident in Italy for at least 10 years.
Among the cases that emerged was that of a 44-year-old from Gravina di Catania, who, despite living with his father in a council house, for which the parent has not paid the rent for almost 30 years, falsely declared that he was paying 500 euros of rent per month to obtain an increased share of the benefit. Among the 267 reported there are also illegal parking attendants, convicted criminal association aimed at drug trafficking and illegal immigration, extortion, robbery, money laundering, family abuse and persecution.
For all, the complaint to the Public Prosecutor's Office was triggered.
