Dramatic road accident in the Bari area.

Two brothers, a boy and a girl, were killed in the crash of the car they were in as they returned home. It happened on the Provincial Road between Castellana Grotte and Turi.

As far as we know, the car, a BMW S1, would have gone off the road at a bend, knocking down the guardrail, bumping into an olive tree and overturning several times. The two deceased brothers, Debora and Gianluca Pontrelli, aged 28 and 25, were sitting in the back seat.

Two other peers were injured, the driving friend - a 24-year-old on whom the results of the analyzes on the possible use of alcohol or drugs are expected - and the next passenger, 25, transported to hospital.

The carabinieri are working on the reconstruction of the accident. Firefighters also intervened on the spot to extract the bodies of the victims from the cockpit. The Public Prosecutor of Bari, with the prosecutor on duty Angela Maria Morea, has opened a file with the hypothesis of the crime of road murder.

Gianluca and Debora were from Valenzano, the city where the boy lived and worked as a worker. His sister, on the other hand, lived and studied in Bari.
