No kidnapping. Milena Santirocco invented everything , she admitted it yesterday during the interrogation before the prosecutor of Lanciano (Chieti) Silvia di Nunzio, confessing that she wanted to kill herself.

Thus ends the story of the dance and fitness teacher from Lanciano, the 54-year-old who disappeared on April 28th and was found alive on Saturday evening in Castel Volturno after six days of intense searches on the Abruzzo coast.

She told the first rescuers who reached her that she had been kidnapped by two men who tried to kill her .

Then she broke down and told the truth. No kidnapping, but the intention to kill himself . During the long interrogation Santirocco retraced the six days spent away from home. She spoke about the reasons that pushed her to flee with the intention of ending it: a difficult family and economic situation, fears for the future and the death of her father which made everything even more complicated.

The woman reported that, after leaving the car in Torino di Sangro and sending a photo to her family among the cliffs, she traveled dozens of kilometers on foot, then arrived in Campania thanks to makeshift passages by car . And here she stayed for several days, even sleeping on the street.

Until Saturday, the day in which Milena says she tried to take her own life by throwing herself into the waters of the Volturno mouth nature reserve , a protected area located between the province of Caserta and the metropolitan city of Naples. The rest is known: the request for help at the bar in Castel Volturno, the liberating cry, the checks in hospital .
