"The pandemic is not over, only now we are managing it with ordinary tools". This was said by the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, who on Radio too took stock of the latest news and methods to counter the spread of Covid in light of the end of the state of emergency.

The masks indoors, however, "are still very important because the circulation of the virus remains high - he added - Indoors they are mandatory until April 30: we will evaluate the trend and decide, but today I say that the mask is essential". We must not let our guard down, the minister reiterated, but stay "with our feet on the ground because there is no off button to turn off the pandemic, the pandemic is still ongoing".

As for the fourth dose of the vaccine for the elderly, Speranza reported that he had proposed coordination to European countries: “It makes no sense to go in random order. They followed me: we will decide, after listening to experts and regulatory agencies, next week ".

However, for the government exponent, introducing the Green pass was a decision that "made the difference, it made us reach one of the best vaccination rates in Europe and in the world. There are countries like Austria, Germany and Holland where even in recent months they have been forced to make hard closures - he concluded - we have not, thanks to the high coverage, the children of a robust use of the Green pass and the introduction of the obligation ".

GUIDELINES - The certificate will now not be used to get on buses and subways, while the basic one remains mandatory to access airplanes, trains and ships and the obligation to wear the FFP2 mask on all means of public transport. These are the main indications provided in the new guidelines validated by the Technical Scientific Committee (Cts) in the meeting on Wednesday and which will be adopted by order of the Minister of Health in concert with that of Sustainable Infrastructures and Mobility, Enrico Giovannini.

The objective - explained Mims - is to accompany the gradual overcoming of the state of emergency, to favor the ordinary resumption of public and private activities, keeping attention on the measures necessary to prevent the risk of a resumption of infections.

The sanitation of the premises and means of transport is also envisaged; installations of dispensers of disinfectant solutions in stations, airports, ports and on means of transport; organizational measures to avoid gatherings; simple and clear communication in railway stations, subways, airports, bus stations and on means of transport, on the rules of conduct to counter the risk of contagion.
