A 50 euro fine for watering and pruning the plants placed by the Municipality to beautify the neighborhood where he lives . Or, more precisely, "for having carried out cultivation interventions on public green areas without the prior municipal authorization".

It is the "curious" fine that Antonio Pinna, a 70-year-old from Oristano, who has lived in Milan for years, was given.

"I saw the abandoned plants and I went there and pruned them," the pensioner defended himself according to what was reported by Repubblica.

“Already in October – he explained – there was a shortage of water and some shrubs have let themselves go a bit . Furthermore, there are many dry branches and so far no one has ever come from the Municipality ».

Precisely for this reason Pinna has decided to give its contribution to the care of the greenery of Piazza Pratocentenaro , a square, among other things, at the center of a project for the recovery and protection of the greenery which sees citizens collaborating precisely with the administration.

But the police noticed the 70-year-old at work and were adamant: «They asked me why I was on the tree cutting dry branches with scissors and if I had the authorization. I didn't have it and, therefore, I was in the wrong».

« I didn't think I was infringing the law, because I was doing a good thing» , concludes Pinna, adding: «I will pay the fine, perhaps with the help of other people. In fact, many have told me that they will help me with a collection».
