After nearly 12 hours of consecutive debate, the Milan City Council approved the resolution late at night regarding the sale of the San Siro stadium to Inter Milan and AC Milan. The resolution was approved with 24 votes in favor, 20 against, and no abstentions.
Two councilors did not participate in the vote. As announced, Forza Italia was not present in the chamber, except for one councilor who disagrees with the party line, Alessandro De Chirico, who voted no.
With the resolution, the City Council will sell the Meazza and surrounding areas to the clubs for €197 million to allow for the construction of a new stadium. The old San Siro stadium will be demolished.
