After passing through Sardinia , the German NGO ship Sea Eye 4 arrived in Livorno - the second to arrive in the Tuscan port in two days - after entering the port escorted by patrol boats from the harbor master's office.

According to the announcement, there are 108 migrants on board.

As already established, 32 migrants will be destined for Emilia Romagna, 30 for Lazio, while the remaining 46, including minors, will remain in Tuscany and will be distributed among the various provinces.

«From aboard the ship Sea Eye 4 they tell us about the trying conditions of the migrants. At the moment there are no cases of Covid even if Covid swabs will be carried out on migrants and personnel on board. There are, like yesterday for Life Support, cases of dehydration and scabies», said the regional councilor for civil protection Monia Monni.

The prefecture is working hard to identify Cas places – he adds -. The Cas dedicated to minors must be opened and the prefect is currently coordinating with the president of the province of Livorno but I note once again a very difficult situation. The port of Livorno is not a port for landings. He is not used to handling similar situations and is outside the routes intended for the reception of migrants. The choice of Livorno forces ships to spend more days at sea and forces people to suffer even more when they already arrive in Italy exhausted and devastated because they were huddled up in the hold of a ship for days».
