Migrants, dramatic shipwreck off Lampedusa: a child missing
The coast guard patrol boat has recovered 64 people, including the child's mother. The search is underway.

A boat carrying migrants sank late yesterday afternoon off the coast of Lampedusa and a child , originally from Sierra Leone, is missing .
The Coast Guard patrol boat CP327 managed to rescue 64 people, including 14 women and 10 minors . Despite searches in the area where the 9-meter vessel sank, no trace of the child was found.
The missing man's mother was disembarked, along with 63 other passengers, during the night on the largest of the Pelagie Islands. The search is ongoing with the CP 271 patrol boat and the Coast Guard's Manta aircraft.
