A participant in the Torino City Marathon races died this morning following a sudden illness during the race. He was a 48-year-old Frenchman.
The man, Roland Claveire, felt ill around 11 am at the corner of Piazza Castello and Via Po, a few meters from the finish line. He was helped on site by the assistance service operators with a defibrillator.
Immediately afterwards, an ambulance from 118 Azienda Zero arrived and continued the resuscitation maneuvers and, once an automatic massager had been applied, took the patient in red code to the San Giovanni Bosco hospital.
Where unfortunately, shortly after, he passed away.
